Evolving Education: TU Delft Workshop

This event aims to collect perspectives on education from TU Delft educators, students, and alumni. The discussion will be centred around and challenge the concept of "open education". What does "open" mean? What does "education" mean?

Invited Moderators
Irene Luque Martins
Irene is an Assistant Professor at TU Delft's Urbanism Department. Her research aims to accelerate the adoption of Research-by-Design (RbD) as a transformative alternative in delta transformations globally. She focuses on understanding the value, role, and business cases for RbD in diverse international contexts, aiming to push the boundaries of the discipline. Teaching is central to her mission. She is dedicated to preparing the next generation of urban designers to be the agents of change, instilling in them the importance of daring, innovative thinking and the critical role of spatial design in shaping the future.
Jing Spaaij
Jing Spaaij is currently a student assistant and an MSc Urbanism student at TU Delft, in her graduation year. Her academic interests focus on biodiversity, citizen engagement, and addressing social-spatial stigmas in neighbourhoods. Previously, Jing worked as a student assistant in the Citizen Voices in Biodiversity (BIO-CiVo) project, where she contributed to the development of two digital citizen engagement tools. Last year, she was also part of a multi-disciplinary student team, Space Oasis 1, at TU Delft’s Dream Team, contributing to the design of a lunar village.
