Abstract: In this presentation I will talk about participatory mapping approaches and how they can be used to promote more democratic decision-making processes in urban planning. I will also talk about the methodological contributions I have made in my research aiming at making participatory mapping data more readily available and analyzable. During this presentation, you will see examples from our empirical studies in various locations in Finland and will learn how to get involved if you are interested in our research.
